چکیده
Clos network, a family of multistage networks, are attractive alternative for constructing scalable packet switches because of its distributed and modular design. The clos packet switching networks are the next step in scaling current crossbar switches to large number of ports. This paper presents the design and simulation of buffer lessbuffered-buffered Clos Packet switching network architecture. This paper proposes a novel the output queuing with the middle stage buffered (OQMB) Clos Packet switching architecture that does not need any schedulers. This architecture employs an ID matching with OQMB packet switching and desynchronize static round robin (DSRR) scheme to achieve Maximum throughput under any admissible traffic. Our queuing analysis demonstrates that only small size buffers are needed in the central stage. The only trade off for the proposed (OQMB) architecture is to employ small extra resequencing buffers. Input modules with desynchronize static round robin (DSRR) scheme connection scheme guarantees no cell contention in input stages. As a result, the OQMB architecture can achieve very high performance, and high throughput under any admissible traffic.

Three-Stage Clos-Network Switch Architecture with Buffered Center Stage for Multi-Class Traffic
Memory-space-memory (MSM) arrangement is a popular architecture to implement three-stage Clos-network switches with distributed arbitration. The scalability of this architecture, however, is limited by the round-trip communication delay between the first and the second stages. Moreover, virtual output queue (VOQ) does not completely remove the blocking in the buffered modules under multi-class ...
متن کاملTechnical Report On Buffered Clos Switches
There is a widespread interest in switching architectures that can scale in capacity with increasing interface transmission rates and higher port counts. Furthermore, packet switches that provide Quality of Service (QoS), such as bandwidth and delay guarantees, to the served user traffic are also highly desired. This report addresses the issue of constructing a high-capacity QoS-capable, multi-...
متن کاملImplementing Distributed Packet Fair Queueing in a Scalable Switch Architecture
To support the Internet’s explosive growth and expansion into a true integrated services network, there is a need for cost-effective switching technologies that can simultaneously provide high capacity switching and advanced QoS. Unfortunately, these two goals are largely believed to be contradictory in nature. To support QoS, sophisticated packet scheduling algorithms, such as Fair Queueing, a...
متن کاملPerformance Evaluation of a New Photonic ATM Switching Architecture Based on WDM
A new gigabit ATM photonic switching architecture is here presented and first experimental results are reported. The matrix is based on wavelength encoding of cells and on the broadcast-and-select principle for routing. A suitable management of fibre delay lines allows alloptical output queueing inside each switching element. These output buffered switching elements are then interconnected in a...
متن کاملSolid-Connection Rearrangeability for 3-Stage Clos Networks in the Multirate Environment
In this paper, we study one aspect of the rearrangeably nonblocking (RNB) operation of generalized, multirate, 3-stage Clos switching networks. In order to achieve RNB operation in a Clos network, we must find a way to route any given traffic load through the middle-stage switches, possibly rearranging existing connections. The model under consideration assumes that a single connection (or call...
